Day 1: Arrive at Imphal – Half-Day Tour

  • Arrive at Imphal Airport for a one-week Manipur tour.
  • Meet and assist on arrival; transfer to hotel or cottage in a scenic Manipuri village near Imphal.
  • Afternoon visit to the State Museum to learn about Manipur’s history, cultural diversity, and wildlife.
  • Evening participation in Aarti Puja at Govindajee Temple, the main Vaishnavite temple of Manipur.
  • Note: Starting time and number of sites depend on your arrival time at Imphal Airport.
  • Overnight at Imphal.

Day 2: Imphal Local Sightseeing City Tour

  • Full-day guided tour of Imphal City, covering:
    • Kangla Fort, Women’s Market, Saheed Minar, RCKS Art Gallery, Mapal Kangjeibung (world’s oldest polo ground), and the two WWII cemeteries.
  • Enjoy a traditional Manipuri lunch.
  • Note: Kangla Fort is closed on Wednesdays.
  • Overnight at Imphal.

Day 3: The Burma Border Tour (110 km/4 hours)

  • Experience crossing into Burma (Myanmar) at Moreh, visiting the bustling bazaar and Buddhist monastery in Tamu.
  • Enjoy a delicious Burmese meal.
  • Stop en route near Tengnoupal for stunning views of the India-Burma border mountains and visit Shenam Saddle, a WWII battlefield.
  • Note: Border crossing is only permitted for Indian tourists; foreign nationals can travel up to Moreh.
  • Overnight at Imphal.

Day 4: Imphal to Ukhrul (3 hours)

  • Drive to Ukhrul, a scenic hill station and home to the Tangkhul Nagas.
  • On arrival, explore the town and market to experience local life.
  • Overnight at Ukhrul.

Day 5: Ukhrul Local Sightseeing Tour

  • Trek to Shiroi Peak to see the famous Shiroi Lily (blooms in May-June) and breathtaking landscapes.
  • For adventurous visitors, Phangrei offers another trekking route.
  • Visit the headman of Ukhrul to learn about the history of headhunting and the Naga transition to modern education.
  • Overnight at Ukhrul.

Day 6: Ukhrul to Loktak Lake (4 hours)

  • Drive to Loktak Lake, the largest freshwater lake in North East India.
  • Enjoy a panoramic view from Sendra Island and visit the Red Hill WWII battlefield and the INA Memorial Complex.
  • In the evening, witness the mesmerizing sight of fishing lamps on Loktak Lake.
  • Note: INA Museum is closed on Mondays.
  • Overnight at Sendra Cottage or Homestay at Loktak Lake.

Day 7: Loktak Lake and Keibul Lamjao National Park

  • Early morning visit to Keibul Lamjao National Park, the world’s only floating national park, to spot the rare Sangai (brow-antlered deer).
  • Boat ride on Loktak Lake to explore floating huts, fishing activities, and migratory birds.
  • Post lunch, explore the area around the lake and visit a local museum.
  • Overnight at Sendra Cottage or Homestay at Loktak Lake.

Day 8: Loktak – Imphal Airport

  • Check out and transfer to Imphal Airport for departure.
